Modern Exterior
Charcoal ACM and Walnut Siding Define 176 Hendon Avenue North York Home
Design Goals
- Create a bold, modern look that complements the twin home at 174 Hendon
- Use shared elements like Metallic Grey ACM to visually link both houses
- Add warmth and contrast using vertical walnut siding
Our Solution
- Charcoal ACM Panels: Installed across upper volumes and framing elements to define the structure and create strong contrast
- Metallic Grey ACM: Used on bay window covers and front entry posts to create material continuity with the neighboring home
- Dark National Walnut Aluminum Siding: Placed vertically near windows and the front entry to add warmth and echo natural tones
Results
- The home has a clean, structured look that balances bold contrast with warm accents
- Charcoal and metallic elements give it a modern, high-end appearance
- The use of common materials strengthens the architectural relationship between the two properties
This modern home on 176 Hendon Ave was designed as the twin to 174 Hendon next door. To maintain a sense of visual continuity while still giving each house its own identity, we used a mix of shared and unique materials. Charcoal ACM panels were used extensively across the front to create bold framing and contrast, while Metallic Grey ACM ties the two homes together—used here on the bay window awning and front entry posts. Dark walnut-tone aluminum siding was added vertically to warm up the white brick and soften the overall look.
