River Rock, Oriental Cane, and Black ACM Panels Finish Hounslow Avenue Toronto Home
Design Goals
- Create a warm, modern exterior using a mix of natural and solid finishes
- Ensure the large front-facing windows blended cleanly with the cladding system
- Add vertical texture elements while keeping the overall look simple and refined
Our Solution
- River Rock Grey ACM: Used for main wall sections to create a smooth, neutral base that complements the light stone facade
- Oriental Cane ACM: A soft wood-finish panel used to add warmth across the upper sections and around balconies
- Black ACM Accents: Installed around large windows to visually extend the frames and blend them into the building’s shape
- Light Fir Battens: 2” x 2” vertical battens were added on soffits and feature walls to add natural rhythm and warmth
Results
- The home now has a bold, warm, and balanced modern exterior
- The large black-framed windows look fully integrated with the design
- The use of battens and wood tones brings contrast and visual interest without overpowering the layout
Project Overview
This custom-built modern home on Hounslow Ave features a clean, balanced cladding design using multiple ACM finishes. The exterior combines neutral grey and black ACM with wood-look panels and vertical battens to create warmth and contrast. Around the large front-facing windows, black ACM panels were used to visually tie the frames into the rest of the structure. The result is a seamless, modern look that still feels natural and welcoming.
