ACM Entrance Cladding Transforms Ellerly Drive Richmond Hill Home

Design Goals

  • Visually disconnected from the rest of the home
  • Weathered wood beams that required frequent maintenance
  • Lacked modern contrast and definition at the front facade
  • The homeowner wanted a material upgrade that could highlight the height and geometry of the gate while reducing future upkeep.

Our Solution

  • Targeted ACM Application: We clad only the structural gate beams using black ACM for a bold contrast that emphasizes vertical lines and clean geometry—ideal for drawing attention to the entrance without overwhelming it.
  • Fluted Panel Accent: Teak WPC fluted panels introduced warmth and subtle texture, balancing the starkness of black ACM with a more inviting tone.
  • Color Contrast Strategy: The dark ACM against a bright white exterior created a sharp, architectural statement that now defines the home’s entry experience.

Results

  • A modern, visually anchored entrance that enhances the home’s curb appeal
  • No more repainting or maintenance on exposed gate beams
  • Materials that resist moisture, sun, and freeze-thaw cycles common in Toronto’s climate
  • Blended material palette—black ACM and warm teak tones—that feels both contemporary and welcoming
Project Overview

This Toronto home features a unique architectural detail—an entrance gate with tall overhead beams. To elevate the look and improve long-term durability, the homeowner opted to renovate specific facade elements using fire-resistant ACM and teak-toned fluted panels. The transformation is subtle but striking, thanks to the contrast between deep black ACM and the home’s white exterior.
