Modern Exterior
Black ACM and Walnut Siding Add Contrast to Douglas Road Toronto Home
Design Goals
- Make the front entry feel taller and more prominent
- Create strong contrast using black panels against light masonry
- Incorporate wood tones for warmth and texture without extra upkeep
Our Solution
- Black ACM Panels: Installed horizontally to frame the house and highlight the architectural lines with clean, dark contrast
- Dark Walnut Aluminum Siding: Used around the vertical entry columns and under the soffits to bring warmth and balance the stone facade
- Low-Maintenance Materials: All cladding choices were selected to resist fading, peeling, and maintenance—while still delivering a custom look
Results
- The house now has a modern, elevated look with rich contrast and vertical emphasis
- The wood-tone siding softens the darker panels and keeps the design warm and approachable
- Durable materials reduce long-term upkeep and help maintain the home’s curb appeal
Project Overview
This modern home on Douglas Rd features a mix of black ACM panels and rich walnut-look aluminum siding. Two tall vertical columns at the front entry draw the eye upward and give the house a more dramatic presence. The horizontal black panels wrap the facade and add strong contrast against the light stone and brickwork. Together, these materials create a sharp, elegant look that’s both bold and balanced.
